FAQs

Are you in-network with my insurance company?

I provide therapy services out of network only, but will generate superbills that can be used to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement requests.

How much will my insurance company reimburse for your services?

Every insurance company and plan is different; I highly encourage you to reach out to your provider and ask the following questions:

1) Do I need to meet a deductible in order to be reimbursed for out of pocket spending? If so, what is that deductible and how close am I to reaching it?

2) Tell me about my reimbursement rates specific to the following service codes:

90791, 90834

What's a superbill anyway?

Superbills are insurance documents generated by a provider for the purpose of reimbursement submission - all superbills will include information regarding the type of service provided, a diagnosis code, and dates of services rendered.

While I do always recommend beginning with weekly therapy if possible (so that we can build our relationship and I can give you the time and care necessary to learn about you), it is absolutely not required that we meet weekly if your level of care does not require it. Some people have a specific topic that they'd like to meet about a few times only; that's okay. Some people would like to build a relationship that they sustain for many years; that's great, too. I encourage you to come as you are and ask how we might be able to work together in a capacity that works for you.

Do we need to meet together every week?
What level of care do you provide?

I provide outpatient therapeutic care that can be provided on a twice weekly, weekly, bi-weekly, or in lower frequency as check-ins. I am not able to provide services in acute circumstances that require a higher level of care for safety in isolation; I am, however, happy to work collaboratively with a care team (psychiatrist, testing psychologist, hospital staff, etc.) in order to ensure that every client is receiving the level of service needed for their individual case.

I'm interested in therapy but don't know where to start. Any tips?

First of all, kudos to you for being willing to explore therapy as an option for support. Especially if this is the first time you've considered therapy as an option, I commend you for your courage and insight into your needs. Finding a therapist who is right for you sometimes takes time and patience; I encourage you to reach out and schedule a call with any therapist who you feel could be a good fit for you in order to have an opportunity to talk directly. Ask questions that pertain to your specific needs and hopes; do they have experience working with clients like you? Is there a specific therapeutic modality that they work with exclusively? Do they feel like they could support you with what you've shared? Most therapists (including me) offer a free 15 minute consultation call for this reason exactly.
